Burgaw
Journey Stories began its year-long tour throughout North Carolina on Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Pender County Public Library in Burgaw. A performance by the Wilmington Police Drum and Bagpipe Band, a ribbon-cutting, and appearances from state and local officials were highlights of the event at the library. Attendees then proceeded through the streets of Burgaw to the Historic Burgaw Train Depot for “Migration, Memory, and Music” a reception featuring storyteller-musician Logie Meachum. The library hosted plays, lectures, workshops, concerts and panel discussions prior to and throughout the six-week run of the exhibit. You can find out more about those events on their website.
