Dr. Liliana Wendorff is a Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Department of World Languages at Queens University of Charlotte. She teaches Spanish language, and Hispanic literatures and cultures.  Liliana likes to involve her students in the community by including service learning in her upper level courses. Her scholarship focuses on contemporary Spanish-American narrative, with an emphasis on Peruvian authors.  She has published  a book and various articles on the works of Mario Vargas Llosa, José de Piérola, Daniel Alarcón, and Santiago Roncagliolo, among others. Currently, Liliana serves on the board of Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Coalition, Cumberland Co. Public Library, Human Relations Commission, and Gilbert Theatre. Prior to coming to Queens University, she was Chair of Foreign Languages at UNC Pembroke. Liliana holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Romance Languages from UNC Chapel Hill.
