Lorna Ricotta is an accomplished singer, small business owner, community advocate,
and higher education administrator. Her musical experience includes recording artist
for solo and group projects, performing on cruise ships in Hawaii and the Caribbean as
a cabaret artist and ensemble member, and obtaining a Vocal Performance degree.

Lorna served as Miss North Carolina 2000, and competed in Miss America, where she
won the Bert Parks talent award. After her year of service, she returned to her Alma
Mater, UNC Pembroke, to direct Alumni Relations, followed by Corporate & Foundation
Relations. She earned a Master’s in Business Administration from UNC Pembroke in
2008. In 2009, she launched Ethos Creative Group to provide event logistics and
interior design services. In 2011, she opened Ethos Boutique in downtown Fayetteville
featuring gifts, apparel, and decor.

She was appointed by the UNC Board of Governors to serve two terms on the Board
of Trustees at UNC Pembroke, where she served as Vice-Chair of the Board. She has
served as Board Chairwoman of the Restore Warehouse; Chair of the Partnership for
Children of Cumberland County Board; Communities in Schools board; Vice Chair of
Communications for the Fayetteville Regional Chamber of Commerce Board and the
Executive Board for Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant Organization. She is
married to Dr. Patrick Ricotta and they live in Fayetteville with their two children and
dachshund.
