Journey Stories Opens in Wilson
Journey Stories, a Museum on Main Street (MoMS) exhibition presented by the North Carolina Humanities Council, the Smithsonian Institution, and rural communities statewide, continued its 2012-2013 tour throughout North Carolina on Saturday November 17, 2012, at the North Carolina Museum of the Coastal Plain in Wilson, North Carolina. The 2012 Caldwell Laureate Betty Ray McCain gave remarks and refreshments were served.
In addition to the Smithsonian exhibition at the Museum, which runs through December a series of lectures and special events are also going on at the Museum. To learn more about these special events, go over to the museum’s website. These special events focus on the journey stories of African-American travelers and travel workers in the eras of Reconstruction and Jim Crow.
