Amidst a culture addicted to the antics of celebrities real or fake, whether they are White House party crashers, wacky politicians, lionized (or maybe it's tigerized) athletes, or money magnates craving to make the next billion bucks, it is a pleasure to read an article such as "Humanities efforts net grants" in the Dec. 8 issue of The Herald-Sun.

NEH Chairman Visits North Carolina

In an event co-hosted by the Levine Museum of the New South and the Humanities Council, NEH Chairman Jim Leach visited NC as a fifth stop on his nationwide “Civility Tour.” Before his evening lecture at the Levine, Leach met with Humanities Council board members, staff, and project directors to hear their thoughts on the state of public humanities in NC.
