KEEPING THE OLD, LEARNING THE NEW

In this issue, NC CROSSROADS presents excerpts of writings and interviews with working class Latinos living in North Carolina. Their words convey the immigrant experience. There is no idealization of their life in Mexico or Latin America. Their stories help us understand the changes they have undergone since their arrival to these lands. They tell of the good things, the bad ones and the price that we all pay when we close a chapter in our life and start a new one. We are given a chance to understand the making of these new Americans. Keeping the old, learning the new.
