Both presenters will share their strategies for every stage of the oral history journey, from preparing and interviewing to transcribing and archiving. Mary Closmann Kahle will discuss her projects regarding Austin’s local community history. She’ll share valuable insights into her methods, questions, and, most importantly, the work post-interview. Jason J. Rivas will discuss the pros and cons of a video oral history. He will also share about unexpected challenges one may face, including how to handle multiple truths that may emerge during interviews.
