Watershed Moments: Statewide Read Author Finale Event

November 17, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Join NC Humanities on November 17 at 1:00 PM for our Watershed Moments: Statewide Read Author Finale Event. The program will air on NC Humanities’ YouTube page: www.youtube.com/NCHumanitiesCouncil

We are pleased to have authors Paolo Bacigalupi, Neal Shusterman, and Jarrod Shusterman for an exciting author conversation facilitated by North Carolina Humanities Trustee Brian Kahn. You will hear their stories come to life as the authors read aloud selections from their books and engage in conversation about their work, the environment, and the connection between literature and a flourishing, informed society.

To ensure North Carolinians have access to books and engage in meaningful conversation, NC Humanities is giving away 35 Book Kits! Book Kits include 1 copy of “The Water Knife” by Paolo Bacigalupi, 1 copy of “Dry” by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman, a special, environmentally-friendly drink Coozie, and a bookmark! Request your book kit by filling out this form. Book Kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This program is the final in our special initiative Watershed Moments, a two-year, deep-dive exploring our relationship with the environment and water, both culturally and historically, and their impact on our future. Through our series of events and exhibits, we used the lens of journalism and the humanities to examine important environmental issues impacting our state and nation. We’d like to thank the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Federation of State Humanities Councils, the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Endowment for the Humanities for making Watershed Moments possible.
