DESCRIPTION:Every history organization can take part in the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States\, a major milestone with the potential to transform both our field and society. 250 Con is an online event that will highlight ways for your organization to get involved in the commemoration. \nAt 250 Con\, you’ll hear from organizers of major 250th initiatives that are looking to connect with local museums\, history organizations\, and historic sites. You’ll also have the chance to meet with your state’s 250th commission. More than 35 states are planning to participate. \n250 Con will also feature conversations with the leaders the Library of Congress\, National Archives\, Smithsonian Institution\, and America250\, who will share inspiring ideas about how to make the most of this once-in-a-generation anniversary. \nRegister today! Registration fees increase after February 14.

SUMMARY:Black History Month Wax Musuem
DESCRIPTION:This history club at Chocowinity Middle School in Chocowinity\, NC\, will host a Black History Month Was Museum. Students from the club were able to choose African American characters of their choice and pose as frozen statues throughout the school. When someone comes up and presses a pretend button\, they will be they will start talking about the chosen character. The Black Oral Histories Project will have a display table along with the Washington Waterfront Underground Railroad Musuem.
