The Many Unheard Voices: The African American Communities of Gaston County, 1870s-1970s is a community curated exhibit funded by the NC Humanities and NEH. The exhibit explores the African American communities Gaston County through the lens of education, community, and inspiration. Oral histories and local objects, resources, and conversations are the heart of the exhibit to include as many voices as possible. The opening reception is 1a-4pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Explore the robust communities of Gaston County, listen, and leave your mark.
