In a Preserving Our Voices session, students gather to listen to a historian share firsthand knowledge about significant historical events, deepening their understanding of the past. As they engage, they also develop interviewing skills—learning how to ask thoughtful questions, follow up effectively, and capture compelling narratives. A videographer documents the session, recording both the historian’s insights and the students’ interactions, preserving these stories for future generations while teaching the art of visual storytelling.
