National Hispanic Heritage Month Books and Resources

Jairo Javier Morales's Graduation Cap

North Carolina Humanities joins the nation in observing National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15! Throughout the year, NC Humanities works to celebrate and uplift histories, stories, and cultures of all North Carolinians.

In recognition of this cultural heritage month, we are giving away a copy of the young adult book The Iguana’s Scroll: NOVA 01 by North Carolina author C.T. Emerson! Fourteen-year-old Oliver García never envisioned he’d become a hero. But when a flying feathered serpent guides him into Tenochprima Academy, he doesn’t just learn he’s capable of magic; he discovers he’s the only person in the world blessed with all three forms of it.

Head to NC Humanities’ Instagram to enter to win! The giveaway closes October 3.

Additionally, we invite you to read through the below resources that explore and pay tribute to National Hispanic Heritage Month. This is just a short collection of the amazing resources that are available. We encourage our readers to explore beyond what we’ve listed.
