CharlOz explores L. Frank Baum’s fairy tale timelessly reflects American values with its vast array of characters through a variety of experiences including:
An opening talk by Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked, at the Knight Theater.
Exhibits at the Projective Eye Gallery (at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City) and the Popp Martin Student Union on UNC Charlotte’s main campus
Gaming and virtual reality experiences, hands-on creative opportunities, and discussions led by Oz experts from around the country in the UNC Charlotte’s J. Murrey Atkins Library
Author talks and family activities at ImaginOn in Uptown
Vendors at The Market at 7th Street on Saturday and Sunday
Unique presentations at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, including the premiere of His Majesty, The Scarecrow of Oz, with music provided by Ethan Uslan, and a presentation by Gita Dorothy Morena—L. Frank Baum’s granddaughter!
